It's the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, N.Y.C. and the ever-optimistic
Tomorrow. The older generation saw it when it first hit the stage 30 years ago, they saw the movie and maybe even read the book by Thomas Meehan but
Annie the Musical gives a whole new generation the chance to see this classic musical about hope, love and friendship.
"Sensational. The most entertaining show I have seen in Sydney for a long time. Great family entertainment" Stan Zemanek from Radio 2Gb
Based on the popular comic strip
Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray,
Annie - The Musical burst onto stage in 1977 when it first opened in Broadway. Since then it has played in over 22 countries worldwide including United Kingdom, Argentina, Japan, Germany, Swede, Spain and Australia. It then became a hit movie musical starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney and Carol Burnett which is what most people from the younger generation would remember. To be completely honest this was the first time I came across
Annie and have since discovered where the story originated.
