Boutique? Run?
Surely there's no way for those words to come together in a logical way?
Well, apparently there is, and apparently
Boutique Running is a way of running in luxury. Okay, well the running itself isn't really in luxury, but after you've run you get to really indulge your 'just worked out body' with some well earned pampering and be part of a great after-run party.
This relatively new idea makes sense – there are lots of women who like to look after themselves, and consider a good work out just one of the ways of doing this. So by combining the running and the post-run-rewards – a hot shower being at the top of the list – you've got yourself an event with double the appeal.
Here's how it works:
1. The
'Boutique Village' is open before the race, so you can come down first and leave your valuables and your change of clothes here. Part of the entry fee is for your ASICS running vest.
2. You run 5km, or 10kms if you're really serious.
3. You cross the finish line and receive your accolades, medals, congratulations and your complimentary carton of Vita Coco to help you bounce back.
4. You head back to the hot showers and dressing rooms to get yourself ship-shape again, feeling good about what you've just achieved.
5. You put on your party outfit and head into the salon lined corridors of the village for some extra pampering at the nail bars and hair and beauty stations. With a glass of fizz in hand and a song in your heart, and surrounding you – they play the latest feel-great tunes to accompany your pampering.
The run starts at 6, but the village is open from 3 and there's a group warm up at 5:50. Some of the money from the even goes to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, so you're doing something to help other girls as well!
