If you ever thought that ballet was dull, then have a look at this man:
His name is
Carlos Acosta and he's a Latin American steed, who's been working with the Royal Ballet for the last dozen or so years, after dancing with the National Ballet of Cuba – where he's from – the English National Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre.
Mr. Acosta has become so well known that now he can sell a show on his own name, which he does every now and then, and is doing it now with Premieres Plus. And this time it's at the Coliseum, accompanied by
Zenaida Yanowsky, who's usually seen with the Royal Ballet as well.
These two dancers dance like they have nothing to lose, which is why they're so exciting and vibrant to see in action, especially in a more contemporary setting. That's what you'll see them in here. This isn't a white tutus and emotive arm gestures type of evening, it's a no holds bar appreciation of what the human form can do if asked correctly.
