For such a small country, the Dutch aren't half good at football. So how do they manage that? If you go along to
Trafalgar Square on the 16th of April, you can ask a Dutch person, because there'll be lots of them there.
They'll be celebrating the Dutch national day, otherwise known as "Queen's Day" (in the Netherlands it'll be
celebrated two weeks later), with an event featuring musical entertainment from a host of Dutch bands, a Dutch market showcasing the best of Dutch produce, a chance to win a Van Gogh branded bicycle (worth £400), a Kids' Corner to keep the children happy, a double Dutch skipping challenge, and lots of other fun activities.
Bands performing on the main stage include:
Storybox, a pop-sounding group with a retro edge.
De Coronas, who apparently take requests from the audience in a show that involves plenty of humour and merriment.
Solo artist Boris, who received a nomination for an Edison Award for best singer in 2005.
New Cool Collective, who've been around for 15 years, playing a heady mix of boogaloo, afrobeat, salsa, latin....the list goes on.
Baskerville, with their rich blend of hip hop, electro funk, and more.
The market will sort you out with an array of Dutch food, including stroopwafels and poffertjes, as well as lots of lovely cheese. Be sure to try some Dutch fries too – with mayonnaise.
And what Dutch market would be complete without tulips? It'll be the perfect place to buy a loved one a bunch of these.
There'll also be free tours of Dutch paintings in the National Gallery, starting at 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Meet at the Salisbury Wing Information Desk to secure a place on the tour.
The whole thing kicks off at mid-day and runs through to eight in the evening.
Wear something orange if you can!
