Shona Reppe's Cinderella is even more magical than you're regular Cinderella, if that could be possible. The extra magic comes because Shona's Cinderella is a puppet so there's so many more ways to being the story to life on stage.
Shona's Cinderella is also quite dark. Our first introduction to her is when she's been trapped in a draw, by her evil stepmother no doubt, and there are several times during the play where she seems to frail and capable of tumbling over for the audience to be totally comfortable of her safety. But that seems to be the element that keeps littler bums on seats. It's their fear that something bad might still happen to her, even though they'll know the story, that keeps them totally in thrall to Shona and her puppets.
This show, in which Shona Reppe is both the puppeteer and the storyteller has won numerous international awards, and uses both traditional puppeteers magic and some tricks even some of the older members in the audience will be surprised by. Which is why it makes such a good ticket for all the family.
