Whether you believe in the Easter bunny or the Easter bilby, you can still enjoy an Australian celebration these holidays.
The
Australian Pioneer Village (
Rose Street, Wilberforce) is a heritage town maintained and administered by a not-for-profit organisation of volunteers. The village is 27 acres and located on the
Hawkesbury waterfront. Visitors can explore the model settlement, which boasts a church, bank, railway station, barber shop and authentic settler's cottages. The town opens its gates every Sunday from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
This holiday event allows participants to celebrate in early Australian style.
Engines and Easter Eggs is a family friendly event that combines chocolate, the Easter Bunny and rustic Aussie charm.
On Sunday 24 April, the village will host the usual displays and attractions as well as a selection of Easter attractions. There will be an Easter egg hunt, craft activities and games for children, including the popular 'Find the Bunnies' activity. There will also be vintage engines, machinery, automobiles, bikes and boats on display for those who are more mechanically minded.
The usual Sunday activities, such as horse and sulky rides for $2.00, gypsy palm readings and the blacksmith demonstrations, will also be available.
The cost of Engines and Easter Eggs is included in the admission price, which is $5 for adults, $3 for children or $15 for a family.
