The waters have subsided and the streets have been swept, but
South Bank is still in the process of recovery. That doesn't mean that families can't enjoy a day of recreational fun. South Bank will play host to a range of
free activities until 20 February.
From 28 January, enjoy free movies under the stars with Movies on the Green. This will take place on Glenelg Street Lawn (
Little Stanley Street) every Wednesday until Sunday from 7.00pm until 10.00pm. On Friday nights, enjoy live music from 6.00pm. The movie program features children's favourites like
Where the Wild Things Are, girly choices like
Sex and the City 2 and family appropriate viewing like
Bran Nue Dae.
The Kids Zone is available every day from 10.00am until 5.00pm on Tribune Street Lawn, Little Stanley Street. Children can play in the massive sandpit or enjoy the wave slide. This is appropriate for children under the age of five. Seating and shade is provided.
But why should kids have all the fun? Adults can get in on the action with some lawn games on Glenelg Street Lawn. The space will provide games for everyone to enjoy, such as table tennis and air hockey. These are available every day from 10.00am until 9.00pm to anyone who wanders onto the field, but remember what we try to teach the kids – share.
The
Young Designers and
Lifestyle Markets are also operating again.
Don't let the water keep you away - South Bank says flood off to the floods.
