Alan Moore is known for several things: mostly his work as an author of comic strips and graphic novels (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Lost Girls - for example) but also for being a magician, an anarchist and a recluse. Any one of these make for a good reason to experience his latest project, a collaboration with Paul Smith, founder of record label 'First Blast' for the Barbican's 'Watch me Move' Animation Festival.

As is common with Mr. Moore, it's not that clear in advance what the results of their collaboration is. All I can tell you is that it's called 'Fourth Dimensional Minds Eye Summoning' and is a tribute to the work of experimental filmmaker Harry Smith. There's a text involved, written by Moore, which will be accompanied by elemental elector-sonics by Edwin Pouncey. The result is being described as a fever-dream performance of a visionary new text.

I can also tell you that it's in Cinema 2, and starts at 8pm.
