Few food events excite me as much as the
Good Food & Wine Show, held at the
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 3rd to the 5th of June. Why? It's getting onto mid-winter, we could all use some sensory stimulation to counter the grey days, and the hundreds of tantalising food and wine tastings and experiences are guaranteed to blow away any winter blues.
The Regional Producers' Market brings the best of the country to
the city. There are also
cheese masterclasses (yum!), cupcake making classes, and pasta making classes.
Catch our top celebrity chefs strutting their celebrity stuff at the Celebrity Theatre. Or maybe become a wine connoisseur, or pretend if you must, at the
Riedel Wine Theatre.
Be seen at the
Beanscene Coffee Experience and learn about this extraordinary bean that not only gives most of us a delectable heart-starter in the morning, and maybe a kick-start in the afternoon, but has also been the subject of
revolts, revolutions, and more than the odd murder or two.
It's too much fun. Allow a whole day (Friday or Saturday 10 til 8; Sunday 10 til 5) for a full, fabulous food experience - that just might leave you feeling very full!
