The first Karavan! festival in 2010 was so popular, this year's tour is going national with shows in Melbourne and Queensland. It brings together some of the greatest gypsy music from Australia and far reaches of the glorious globe.
Be transported to underground Istanbul, the heart-pounding heart of Turkey, with Harem'de, who are renowned as Europe's finest Gypsy percussionists. They've sold millions of copies of their album and have toured 55 countries all over the world, so be prepared to be enthralled.
Things get even hotter when
Gipsy.CZ from Prague hit the stage with their captivating fusion of gypsy music, Romano hip hop and pop. Imagine this: a combination of a famous Czech gypsy violinist, singer Vojta Lavicksa and the exuberant singer, rapper, composer and all-round entertainer Radoslov 'Gypsy' Banga. The result is the freshest gypsy sound today and it's taking the world by storm. If you can stay still to this, sorry but there's something seriously wrong with you.
Another international act is DJ Delay from Berlin, while Australian artists include, amongst others, Lolo L'ovina and Bandaluzia Flamenco (pictured) for a passionate and wholly mesmerizing blend of explosive dance, virtuoso guitars, soulful singing and perfect percussion.
Flamenco is simply fabulous. Olé.
