Fancy yourself an artist behind the camera lens? Enjoy taking
the time to savour the beautiful and slower things in life? If so this
slow photo weekend workshop will open your eyes and camera lens to the artistic beauty of photography. The workshop, open to people of all levels of experience, is run by award winning photographer
Ewen Bell and artist Gary Yelen in the artist's enclave of
Nowa Nowa in East Gippsland on May 20-23.
It's a stunning location, a remote bush setting perfect for inspiring creative expression. The two-day, three-night, workshop, which is limited to just 10 people, is especially for those wanting to take the time to discover photography as an art
form. It will push creative boundaries, provide hands-on experience, and encourage you to use your camera as a paint brush. So, if you're looking for a purely technically-focussed workshop, this isn't it. Be prepared to be inspired.
Ewen Bell, also author of "
Photography for Travellers", believes that "the camera is a creative device, not a documentary tool... working with Gary in this setting allows us to share our thoughts on composition and creativity."
The workshop, which will fill you with ideas and inspiration that will last well beyond these couple of days, costs $990 per person, which includes accommodation, all meals, facilities and detailed notes. Nourishing the mind and soul makes it well worth it.
