One Man Lord of the Rings

Home > Things to do in Brisbane > Comedy | Theatre
Event: 12/04/2011 - 17/04/2011

The lengthy battles and plot twists of JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings are scaled back to a mere sixty minutes and the epic journey, fights and crowd scenes played out by one man – Charles Ross.

Charles Ross is an American comedian whose previous show, One Man Star Wars, has been performed in more than 180 cities across four continents. He returns to Australian shores with One Man Lord of the Rings, a one hour show that covers the entire trilogy (are you listening, Peter Jackson?)

Ross uses nothing but an empty stage, elbow pads and comedy to retell the story of Frodo Baggins quest to destroy the malevolent One Ring, from 'the Shire to the fire'. Even if you've never read the books or seen the movies, the show is a sight to be seen.

One Man Lord of the Rings shows at the Queensland Performing Art Complex (corner Melbourne and Grey Street, South Brisbane) from Tuesday 12 April until Sunday 17 April. Tickets prices start at $48.00.
