I have been reliably informed that the performances are fantastic and not to be missed. A direct quote from the publicity flyer states "
an electrifying fusion of morality, rebellion, sexual awakening and rock & roll". It's got everything a modern musical should have.
The original play was written in 1892 in Germany where the themes were a little to strong for the late 19th century and it was banned. The subject matter is just as relevant today though, but has been given a fresh twist with hard rock music.The play was adapted into a musical playing on Broadway winning no less than 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score.
