Stories from Tallawolladah is a special school holiday activity, being held at
The Rocks Discovery Museum from Monday 4th of July to Friday 8th July of 2011.
This interactive educational activity, will explore the history of
Sydney Harbour, which was the location of the "
first European settlers" in Australia.
Led by an Aboriginal guide, children will explore what used to be known as Sydney Cove (now known as Circular Quay). Children will learn about Sydney before and during colonization, and in particular, Aboriginal history and culture. It is acknowledged that during this time, there were "
three thousand Aboriginal inhabitants" in Sydney.
This a great opportunity for children to learn about the history of Sydney and in addition, there will be an arts and crafts component at this special event. This activity is designed for children 5 to 12 years of age.
