With more people turning to bicycle riding as a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the city of Sydney is proud to announce the opening of its
Sydney Rides Festivall to be held between 08 and 16 October 2011 right across all Sydney.
Whether you wish to follow the path of Cadel Evans or simply enjoy the two wheels as a past time, the festival has activities to offer for everyone, from the Sydney Bikes Film Festivals to the Bikes Rock concert, the BiArt exhibition, the Living Colour Floral Display and much more.
The grand opening will be with the Sydney Rides & Sydney Bike Film Festival's Street Party. This free event includes market stalls, demonstrations, and workshops without forgetting the food and fun for kids. A Bike Valet service will be available for all those who wish to ride to the show.

A Ride to Work Day Breakfast will be held on October 12. It is a perfect way to celebrate the festival by riding your bike to work. To thank you for your participation, the City of Sydney is pleased to offer food and refreshments. Also, make sure to get your free bike check and advice on good bike posture by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).
Sydney Bikes Festival is nothing without a
Sydney Bikes Film Festival. For this occasion, the Sydney Bike Film Festival film program will be watched inside the Sydney Opera House. Come and watch cycling as you've never seen before on the big screen. Check out

The Late Night Gold Sprint and Bike Polo will follow and are perfect for all fast legs with prizes to win.
Spring cycle is a classic ride of approximately 55 km, starting in North Sydney, right across the Harbour Bridge, taking in the old Glebe Island Bridge, scenic suburbs of the Inner West and the John Whitton Bridge before finishing along the Olympic Boulevard of Sydney Olympic Park. A new 16 km
City Ride has been added for this year's edition with the same starting point but finishing at Pyrmount via the Harbour Bridge, the next day. View the route map

For this occasion, all participants will be able to travel free on City rail trains and Sydney ferries to and from the event.
A
Pirrama Park Family Bike Fun Day will welcome the participants of the City Ride at the finishing point. This free event will include market stalls, music and live entertainment, free bike mechanics and route information and children's arts and crafts.
Cool off with a leisurely bike ride from Surry Hills to Bondi followed by the concluding part of the Sydney Bike Film Festival at the Beach Road Hotel.

And finally,the festival will conclude in an explosion of colours at the
Living Colour Floral Display where you can watch the largest seasonal floral displays in Sydney.
