Event: 29/05/2011 - 30/05/2011

From the organizers of Meatopia and Pig Island, Brewer's PicNyc celebrates the start of summer with great food, music and beer.

On Memorial Day weekend, Governor's Island in New York City will host a bevy of brewmeisters from New York and Illinois as well as some of the city's best food. Stroll along Colonel's Row for history, hobnob with beer connoisseurs as tri-state bluegrass musicians provide a great soundtrack for the day, or instigate a spontaneous ukulele jam session in one of the designated areas alongside the 19th century Officer's Quarters.

Grounds open at 11am for early admission. Blankets, bikes, and frisbees are welcome. Beer tastings are available from Brooklyn, Six Points, Kelso, Warrenville's Two Brothers, Palm, and Goose Island. Good eats include Jimmy No. 43, Fette Sau, Luke's Lobster, Big Gay Ice Cream, Bent Spoon, and Australian Meat Pies.

Tickets start at $25 for music, special attractions, picnic area, and 1 beer and 1 food tasting. For $45, the Premium Ticket gives you 2 beer and 3 food tastings. Both tickets can be purchased up to the day before the PicNyc.

For the best deal, purchase the Thrillist VIP ticket for $55. Enjoy early admission to the grounds, unlimited food and beer tastings. Thrillist VIP tickets must be purchased before May 3rd.

Regular VIP tickets are available up to 2 days before the event. For $500, the VIP Table is good for 6 people, a reserved picnic table, unlimited tastings, and a fast pass. Purchase up to 9 days beforehand.

With melodious tunes, frothy beverages, and good friends, this summer will be the best one yet!

Yum, thanks for the heads up about this event! What a great way to kick off summer. Luke’s lobster rolls and the Big Gay Ice Cream truck are the perfect summer treats. Plus, I see it benefits Added Value, an awesome nonprofit promoting local agriculture.
