This winter will definitely be a few degrees warmer then usual with the hottest in Rnb and Hip Hop hitting the stage in Sydney this August. With Supafest gaining worldwide press back in April and being recognised as the biggest urban music festival in the world, the promoters responsible – Paperchase Touring and Entertainment, are once again staging Winterbeatz 2011.

Last year we saw the likes of Neyo and TPain but Winterbeatz 2011 has taken it to a whole new level. Winterbeatz 2011 will present over four hours of live music from some of the best international urban artists including 50 Cent, G Unit, Fabolous, Lil Kim and Mario.

We all saw the story of 50 Cent in the film Get Rich or Die Trying but now he is bringing it all to us on stage. His four successful albums are "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" in 2003, "The Massacre" in 2005, "Curtis" in 2007, and "Before I Self Destruct" in 2009, all in which have given him 8 Top 20 singles in Australia including "Ayo Technology", "P.I.M.P", "Outta Control", and "Window Shopper". Joining 50 cent on stage is G Unit with Lloyd Banks to perform nothing but hits.

Fabolous has been a relevent part of the hip hop industry for the past 10 years. His first released album Ghetto Fabolous was very successful and the mainstream media picked up on it instantly calling him "The rapper to watch". He then released his album "Street Dreams" in 2003 featuring the hits "Can't Let You Go" and "Into You". The third album "Real Talk" released in 2004 featured the successful singles "Breathe" and "Baby" and album number four "From Nothin' to Somethin'" was released in 2007 debuting at number 1 on the Billboard chart and featured the smash hits "Make Me Better" featuring Ne-Yo, and "Baby Don't Go" featuring Jermaine Dupri and T-Pain.

Lil Kim performance
Lil Kim in my opinion is the number one female rapper that Hip Hop has ever introduced. The big screen has also revealed to us the story behind lil Kim and how she started as her character was portrayed in the movie Notorious. A story about American rapper Notorious B.I.G (or Biggie Smalls as some of us know him as). Lil Kim' rap style throughout the mid-90's was provocative and edgy but it worked and led her to become a number one female rapper. Her career was affected in 1997 when her father figure and role model Notorious BIG was murdered but she made a comeback a few years later releasing a new album "Notorious K.I.M". Later in 2001 came a song we all know and love that featured Lil Kim as well as Christina Aguelira, Pink and Mya. You guessed it "Lady Marmalade" that went to number 1 on the Billboard Charts, earned her a Grammy, and became one of the biggest selling songs worldwide that year.

Mario is a highly successful singer/songwriter and has also appeared in films such as "Step Up" and "Freedom Writers" alongside Academy Award Winner Hilary Swank. Mario is probably most recognised for his song "Let Me Love You" but it was in fact "Just a Friend" in 2002 that put his name on the charts. Mario has continued to release successful singles over the years including "How Do I Breathe", "Stuttering", "Break Up" and "Crying out for Me".

If you love classic Hip Hop and RnB this is a concert you cannot miss. Tickets are on sale now and start at only $99 and you can see all the action at the Sydney Entertainment Center this August. I attended Winterbeatz 2010 and it was amazing I know for sure that 2011 will be just as good if not better.
